Find your service, check the certification, then read your rank. Your rank unlocks everything listed above it in that service.
Handbook and quick actions
How it works
- Certification first. Every service needs its certification (Tow, Taxi, Bus or Construction). Support units need none.
- Then rank. Each vehicle lists the lowest rank that may drive it.
- Colour and trim. Follow the colour structure. Using a vehicle, trailer or colour outside your rank is a strike, unless a medal, Free Weekend or Supervisor of the Month perk lets you (tell a Supervisor when you use it).
The official copy is the DOT Database (Vehicle Structure tab). If they ever differ, the database wins.

- Use the vehicle in “Tow it with”, even if you haven’t unlocked that vehicle on its own yet.
- Tow trailers need Tow Certified; construction trailers need Construction Certified.
- Senior DOT Operators using construction trailers must be supervised by a DOT Supervisor or above.
- Enclosed box trailers are visual roleplay only, to make construction scenes look right.

Session limits
To keep sessions realistic and uncluttered, each vehicle type has a limit per session (rule III). If tow slots are full, go online as a taxi or another DOT vehicle. The CAD shows the slots in use live.
